Mr. Xu Ledao hails from a musical family on Gulangyu Island, a World Heritage Site known as the “Piano Island.” He studied under renowned piano professors at the Central Conservatory of Music and the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, winning first prize in the inaugural Xiamen Youth Music Competition and receiving high praise from music educator Mr. Yin Chengdian. Mr. Xu holds dual master’s degrees from Harvard University and Columbia University, as well as piano performance certificates from Juilliard School and the New England Conservatory of Music (NEC). Michael Shinn, former head of the Keyboard Department at Juilliard School (now Dean of the School of Music at Berkeley, Boston), and his teaching team praised Mr. Xu Ledao’s playing as possessing “perfect technique, filled with love and noble musical sentiment…”. He also served as the music director for the New York Chinese American Association’s Spring Festival and National Day galas, and was the tennis leader for several New York Chinese American Games. Mr. Xu is multi-talented. He is also an avid athlete; in 2018, he won the men’s singles runner-up title in the intermediate category at the inaugural “National Chinese Amateur Tennis Open” held at the USTA National Tennis Center. Mr. Xu is the founder of the Tri-State Tennis League. He organizes tennis tournaments annually and successfully reached the milestone of the 10th Tri-State Tennis Friendship Tournament at the US Open. In recent years, Mr. Xu has also organized various swimming competitions in New York City and Long Island. Mr. Xu is currently the Assistant Vice President of Wells Fargo, one of the Big Four banks in the United States, holding an important position in its investment banking division.
