Times Square, New York News On April 22, 2026 local time, the 56th World Earth Day was celebrated in grand style. The large-scale charity concert and art exhibition Earth & Water Day: Love Your Mother took place in the pedestrian area of Times Square, New York.

Hosted by Good News Corporation and co-presented by OMMM Presents, the event was broadcast live worldwide to spread environmental awareness and the vision of peaceful sustainable development.

First launched in 1970, World Earth Day was officially recognized by the United Nations in 2009. It now covers 193 countries with more than one billion participants worldwide. Under the theme “Love Your Mother”, the event calls on people to respect nature and protect the planet.

Rev. Paul Sladkus, founder of the annual Times Square Earth Day event, has organized this meaningful ceremony for 24 consecutive years. He promotes environmental protection and global peace through music, art, meditation and cross-cultural communication.

The event brought together over 50 international artists, scholars and public welfare figures with diverse and wonderful performances.

Two internationally renowned guests dedicated to global public welfare made surprise appearances at the event. They greatly enhanced the international influence and representative value of this Earth Day celebration.

Russell Brand, famous British comedian, host and top podcaster, attended the event in person. After years of career development and self-improvement, he focuses on spiritual awakening and social welfare. As one of the most influential public figures worldwide, he showed his classic personal look at Times Square and attracted wide attention.

Prince John, official delegate to the 70th UN Commission on the Status of Women, celebrated international host and artist, also joined the activity. Honored by the New York City Council and New York State Senate, he devotes himself to cross-cultural exchange and global charity.

He set a historical record as the first Chinese artist to appear on the CSW celebration stage. He has hosted and performed at many world-famous venues including the UN Headquarters, Carnegie Hall, Yale University and Lincoln Center.
