144,000 ER Visits, Yet Warmth Abounds—At America’s Busiest Trauma Center, UN Representative and Chaplaincy Team Spread Love Through “We Are the World” and Easter Candies
From the UN to Lincoln Hospital: CSW70 Official Representative Witnesses the Power of Faith and Compassion
[New York, March 25, 2026, Eastern Time] On the afternoon of March 25, Eastern Time, Wang Guoquan-Prince John, Official Forum Host of the 69th Session and Official Representative of the 70th Session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70), and International Host, visited Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx. Affiliated with Weill Cornell Medicine, this Level 1 Trauma Center operates the 3rd busiest emergency room in the nation, with over 144,000 annual visits.
From the UN to the Community: Continuing the Mission
Fresh from his duties at CSW70, Wang Guoquan-Prince John turned his attention from international conference halls to community hospitals. “CSW70 showed me the challenges women face globally,” Wang Guoquan-Prince John noted. “Here, I see how faith transforms into concrete care for every life—that’s the UN spirit at the community level.”
Led by Father Andy, Wang Guoquan-Prince John met Pastor Dennis and the chaplaincy team. In the Public Affairs department, they were busy preparing Easter gifts—tables piled high with candies, eggs, and presents for young patients. Moved by the scene, Wang Guoquan-Prince John, Father Andy, Pastor Dennis, and two volunteers sang “We Are the World” together while packing the gifts.
“Even in America’s busiest trauma center, there is warmth and music,” Wang Guoquan-Prince John reflected. “Father Andy brought me here. Singing ‘We Are the World’ while preparing candies for children we’ve never met—that’s the CSW70 spirit: love and unity across borders and faiths.”
The Sacred Mission Behind the Candies
The chaplaincy team’s work embodies CSW70 values:
• Patient Support: Emotional and spiritual care, with special attention to women and children
• Staff Care: Counseling for medical personnel, many of whom are women
• End-of-Life Care: Dignity for terminal patients and families
• Interfaith Services: Inclusive support regardless of background
“Father Andy, Pastor Dennis, and the entire team are doing God’s work,” Wang Guoquan-Prince John said. “They use music and candies to deliver hope—the core values of CSW70: dignity and compassion for every individual, regardless of gender, race, or faith.”
The Humanitarian Light in a Trauma Center
As candies are distributed and “We Are the World” resonates through the corridors, this gift from the nation’s third busiest trauma center is the warmest interpretation of “the healer’s kind heart”—and the truest embodiment of CSW70 spirit in the community.
“From the UN headquarters to Lincoln Hospital, I see the same belief,” Wang Guoquan-Prince John concluded. “Every life deserves gentleness; every pain can be illuminated by care.”
